Finding Love

With summer passed, the time of year that Keats called the ‘Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness’ has arrived.  As a result, the world around us looks more beautiful than ever.  Leaves of amber and gold.  Clear blue skies and crisp air.  Roaring log fires.  Who could argue that Autumn isn’t the perfect season for finding love?  Here, we take a look at some of the season’s most enticing qualities.

A Return to Childhood Wonder

For children, Autumn is a time of jumping in leaves; collecting shiny, mahogany conkers; carving faces into pumpkins.  As adults, a walk through a beautiful Autumnal wood takes us back to that magical time.  When we reconnect with happy times from our past, we’re at our most open and honest.  This makes it so much easier to form loving and lasting bonds.

Shorter Days, Cosier Nights

The word equinox comes from the Latin equi (meaning equal) and nox (meaning night).  The equinox marks the time when day and night are of equal length.  After this point, days become shorter and nights draw in earlier.  Log fires and candle-light become part of our evening routine, creating a romantic ambience that summer just can’t compete with.

And Now For The Science Bit…

Scientific studies have proven that just the smell of pumpkin pie can increase blood flow to the male sex organs by a massive 40 per cent!  A Halloween themed soiree, anyone?
